are.na
are.na is my favorite non-social social media site. (There are social elements but I don't use them.) It's probably exploding with copyright violations but it's a wonderful way to collect visual and text media into buckets of thought for reflection.
general interest channels
- intersections: media that falls at the intersection of technology and ___, with the blank being something I'm thinking about at the moment.
- digital library: collection of PDF books that look interesting or which I've already read so I put them here as a recommendation.
- digitalgarden: A compilation of resources and ideas related to digital gardening. Every time I come across a digital garden site I drop the link here too.
- pandemic reflections: I tried to capture ideas and thoughts from the stuff I learned 2020-2023. I don't update this anymore and it's a good time capsule of a few years of my life.
seasonal channels
I only update these during the season and I add things that intensely make me feel "in that season" the moment I see it. Some of my photography included as well.
Leaflet.pub
I began using Leaflet for "digital gardening" at the end of 2025. You can use Leaflet for a variety of things, including creating a newsletter, but I became interested in it as a way to plaster thoughts into random notes/docs and find interesting ways to link them together over time.
seasons
My seasons card sort of acts as collection of ways you can engage with seasons in different/creative ways. It links here to my seasonal bingo page too.
name 10 things
Almost all other content will branch from my "name 10 things" week posts. (I don't do them every week but they cover a week of stuff.) When there's a week I want to write about, I pick a theme, and then name 10 things related to it. I spend most of the week drafting it and then edit/polish before publishing after the week ends.
