I will write about anything and everything here: my interests, my boring life, Zenny (my calico cat), things I'm thinking about, reading, watching, or doing, places I've been, stuff I like to do, etc.
I separate some journals by topic if I consider them "main" hobbies.
Non-specific life writing.
This journal is "all about me." I am a 40-something non-binary pal living in the DC area. I'm jack-of-all-trades type of creative--I get into a lot of things, but I am mediocre at all of them. My primary forms of expression are websites, zines, writing, doodling, and snail mail.
Method: I write my blog posts and then I do not go back and edit them, no matter how wrong I was. It often takes me a few hours to draft something offline, then I refine and edit it as I am coding it for the journal site.
Adventures!
I make an entry for this journal when I travel. I'll try to capture most of my trips, but it depends very much on my energy levels after getting home and what I've got going on. Travel pages include a summary of the trip and photo album.
Method: I create the photo album by isolating photos I want to share and finding fun captions for them. As I'm going through the photos, I pull out a few memories to talk about in the summary. Photo albums are shared widely so they generally don't include people but might include me.
Music journal.
I am taking a journey through all the albums I own - records, cassettes, CDs, and digital. In this process, I'm using the journal to reflect on my thoughts and feelings about the music, and learn a bit about each band or album.
Method: I get high and listen to an album or three from my music library. I listen to the albums a few times. As inspiration comes, I describe it and take notes on feelings, thoughts, memories, or whatever comes to mind. After editing into a post, I look up fun facts to share too.
Video games.
When I'm playing games often, I want to write about it. I keep track of progress and goals in a journal, but I also share screencaps and talk about fun sessions with friends.
Method: If I have the energy after playing, I can create a post on Bearblog from my phone or computer. I don't write every time I play but sometimes writing feels like an essential part of processing how much fun I just had!
Writing journal.
I am a writer, and though I haven't had a regular/consistent writing habit for a while, keeping a journal where I share it has historically given me motivation to try new ideas.
Method: I write intermittedly and usually share here a few weeks later (backdated). I want to retain the original date but sometimes feel too vulnerable to share writing immediately.
